Amcor (NYSE: AMCR, ASX: AMC), a global leader in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions is hosting a webinar that provides an overview of recent European Union (EU) regulation changes and propellant reformulation in the Pressurized Metered Dose Inhaler (pMDI) industry and how these will impact the future development of pMDI devices.
The webinar follows the introduction of the EU’s latest ‘Guideline on the pharmaceutical quality of inhalation and nasal medicinal products’, which came into effect on February 1 this year. This contains many more detailed requirements than the previous 2006 version.
Amcor’s webinar will therefore provide in-depth explanations of the main points of the guideline and outline how pMDI devices are likely to evolve as a result. For example, the new guideline specifies that multidose inhalation medicinal products should be equipped with a dose counter.
In addition, the webinar is being supported with an eBook that also explains the different inhalation technologies and the advantages and benefits of each, as well as detailing how sustainability considerations form an important part of ongoing product development.
“Our webinar and eBook provide the ideal opportunity to update drug developers and manufacturers on the wide-ranging capabilities and possibilities of the technology and how it can adapt to a changing regulatory environment.” said Arturo Cubí, business development director, Global Healthcare, Amcor Global Rigid Packaging Solutions. “Amcor first commercialized a counting solution for a pMDI in 2011, and we have many years’ experience in the continuing refinement of inhalation technology,”
The webinar takes place on April 28 at 2pm CET (1pm UK). To register, visit https://amcor.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_QrWPByHZTFGLO5ZCUVoa4w#/registration
The eBook will be openly available after the webinar and signatories to Amcor’s newsletter will receive it the day after. Sign up to the newsletter here.
Note: The content of the webinar and accompanying eBook is intended to provide a general overview of regulatory developments and industry considerations.
