In a significant move toward sustainable packaging solutions, Graphic Packaging International has partnered with New Jersey-based co-packer JJM Packaging to introduce the award-winning Boardio™ paperboard canister to a broader North American market. This collaboration aims to provide brands and retailers across the U.S. and Canada with an eco-friendly alternative for packaging various food products, including nutrition powders, sweeteners, dry beverage mixes, oats, grains, and cereals.

Graphic Packaging’s latest offering is tailored to support operators in this market who are looking for alternatives to traditional plastic sushi packaging. The new portfolio includes options that meet the ‘plastic-free’ definition according to the EU’s Single-Use Plastics Directive (SUPD) guidance, alongside solutions containing no plastic lamination or less than five percent plastic. All formats can be designed to be recyclable in European household waste streams.  

The Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) on Wednesday announced the launch of the National Packaging Innovation Challenge, aimed at students and startups to foster scalable and creative packaging solutions.

India-based label and carton packaging leader Print Panache has become the first company in the country to install the Lombardi Smartline flexo press, a next-generation machine designed to meet the evolving needs of modern label converters. The installation was carried out by Vinsak, the exclusive distributor of Lombardi presses in the region.
