From Maharashtra’s Forests to the World Stage: Shabari Naturals Honored in Prime Minister’s Mann Ki Baat

In Episode 139 of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spotlighted Shabari Naturals, celebrating our 2026 Japan Good Design Award with the entire nation.

Rooted in Maharashtra’s forests, our brand was built on a simple belief: indigenous design, tribal art, and community-crafted products belong on the global stage. Having that vision championed today by the Prime Minister himself is a proud moment for our entire community.

While packaging usually exists to drive sales, Shabari Naturals leverages it to tell a cultural story. Managed by Maharashtra’s Shabari Tribal Finance and Development Corporation, the brand promotes authentic products sourced directly from tribal gatherers, including wild honey, spices, and traditional millets. Its visual identity incorporates authentic Warli, Gond, and Chitrakathi art, thoughtfully bringing ancient heritage into modern markets without losing its roots.

This distinct approach earned international acclaim, winning Japan’s prestigious G-Mark Global Design Award alongside the India Design Mark. Beyond standard marketing, the artwork serves as a living connection to community heritage, honoring the people and traditions behind every item.
