IBG (Innovative Beauty Group), a leading global beauty solutions provider, has partnered with Loveseen, a brand of cruelty-free, natural-looking false eyelashes, to develop stylish yet sustainable packaging for its line of more than a dozen lash varieties. Launched in 2020 by Jenna Lyons, former creative president of J.Crew, and makeup artist Troi Ollivierre, the brand leaned on IBG to develop its packaging.

Greiner puts sustainable packaging message on the road

Owned by the Austrian Greiner AG since 2006, the plastics firm, formerly known as Wilsanco, is one of the north’s most prolific manufacturers.

Despite being responsible for creating packaging for many of our best known consumer goods, from the Quality Street box to virtually all locally sourced yoghurt products, Greiner has maintained a relatively low profile in recent years.

But that’s now changing as part of a new investment programme that has seen the family-owned company announce plans to invest another £10 million in expanding its operations here.

Smurfit Kappa paper mill unveils new sustainable innovation

Smurfit Kappa’s Townsend Hook paper mill in the UK has introduced a new state-of-the art drying process innovation to reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

Traditionally, paper drying is one of the most energy-intensive aspects of the manufacturing process. The innovative new processes implemented have resulted in a 6% reduction in steam energy consumption and a 5% reduction in total CO2 emissions from the Kent-based paper mill.

Assam CM Asks Youths To Focus On Proper Processing, Packaging Of Agricultural Items

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday urged the youth of the state to focus on processing and packaging of agriculture produces and items.

He said various produces from the state are in high demand globally and proper processing and packaging will ensure even more endorsement of these products.

Sarma was speaking after inaugurating a 5,000 metric-tonne-capacity cold-storage facility at Chaygaon and a fruit-processing centre at the food-processing park at Satabari, both under Kamrup district.

Environmentally-friendly packaging developed at UBC

Millions of packages are delivered across the country each year, with Canada Post delivering around 361 million parcels in 2021 alone, according to the latest federal data.

Dr. Feng Jiang, an assistant professor in the UBC faculty of forestry and the Canada research chair in sustainable functional biomaterials, says research for the project began years ago while he was exploring new uses for food waste, as well as ways to reduce pollution from packaging foam.
