Hubergroup Chemicals has introduced UHVPI-222200, an amine-modified polyether acrylate oligomer engineered to enhance curing performance, process efficiency, and surface quality in UV-curing coatings.
A standout feature of the new product is its high reactivity at low addition levels, enabling faster curing, shorter production cycles, and reduced energy consumption. Its low viscosity ensures excellent flow properties and greater formulation flexibility.
UHVPI-222200 serves a dual function as both an amine synergist and a reactive binder. It is compatible with Norrish Type II photoinitiators, including benzophenone- and thioxanthone-based systems, as well as Type I photoinitiators. By accelerating surface radical formation, the oligomer effectively reduces oxygen inhibition in thin films and pigmented systems, resulting in reliable surface curing and high-gloss finishes.
In highly reactive, low-viscosity formulations such as UV varnishes and coatings, the product can be used as the primary or sole binder. This supports simplified formulations and reduces the need for monomers. With a TMPTA content below 0.1%, UHVPI-222200 is also well-suited for low-migration applications, including food packaging.
Typical applications include industrial coatings, UV varnishes, wood coatings, UV flexo inks, and overprint varnishes across a wide range of energy-curable systems.
