Lassonde Industries Inc., one of North America’s leading food and beverage companies, has inaugurated its first fruit concentrate bag-in-box production line at its Rougemont, Quebec facility. Representing an investment of over $10 million, the new line marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth and packaging innovation strategy.
The state-of-the-art line produces bag-in-box formats ranging from 4 L to 2,000 L, featuring flexible inner bags designed for fruit concentrates and recipe bases. These formats cater to a wide range of commercial and institutional customers, including quick-service restaurants, convenience stores, microbreweries, distilleries, caterers, and other foodservice operators across North America.
According to CEO Vince Timpano, the new capability enables Lassonde to respond faster and more precisely to evolving customer needs while offering requested packaging formats that enhance value delivery across the supply chain.
The expansion provides customers with practical, cost-efficient bulk formats that simplify operations and reduce waste. Vice-President Suzanne Aubry noted that the larger-volume concentrates and mixes can be easily combined on site to produce beverages, sauces, and other products with consistent quality.
Bag-in-box packaging has gained momentum in foodservice and wholesale markets due to its efficiency, handling convenience, and sustainability benefits. With this investment, Lassonde joins a limited group of North American producers offering large-format bag-in-box fruit concentrate solutions, reinforcing its leadership in food and beverage innovation.
Combined with Lassonde’s expertise in tailored recipe development, the new production capability opens significant growth opportunities for both the company and its customers.
