EcoVadis Announces Winners of 2025 Sustainability Achievement Awards at Sustain Conference

EcoVadis, the leading sustainability intelligence platform for global supply chains, has announced the winners of its ninth annual Sustainability Achievement Awards (formerly the Sustainable Procurement Awards). The awards were presented yesterday at the EcoVadis Sustain 2025 conference.

The Sustainability Achievement Awards honor companies with exemplary sustainable procurement programs and individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership in driving sustainability efforts within their organizations.

“The winners of this year’s Sustainability Achievement Awards truly embody sustainability excellence, proving that sustainable practices are vital to long-term business success,” said Pierre-Francois Thaler, co-founder and co-CEO of EcoVadis. “These organizations have shown exceptional leadership in advancing sustainable procurement initiatives, achieving remarkable outcomes, and creating lasting impact. We celebrate their efforts and look forward to seeing their continued growth and success.”

Award Categories and Winners

The awards highlight excellence in three primary categories for enterprise companies:

Best Mature Program in Sustainable Procurement

Winner: Hitachi Energy

This award celebrates organizations that demonstrate ongoing innovation and program expansion, even beyond the scope of traditional sustainable procurement initiatives.

An independent jury of industry experts—Divya Demato (CEO and Co-Founder, GoodOps), Laura Taal (CEO, REVIVER), and Uwe G. Schulte (Author and Sustainability Advisor)—selected Hitachi Energy for its strong focus on decarbonization and biodiversity as key levers in addressing the climate crisis. The company’s commitment to circularity, supplier engagement, and a transparent, resilient supply chain sets a high standard for the industry.

Nils Tengberg, Global Head of Supply Quality & Sustainability at Hitachi Energy, said:
“At Hitachi Energy, we are advancing the world’s energy system to be more sustainable, flexible, and secure. Our suppliers are an extension of our own operations, and the EcoVadis supplier sustainability assessment is a core enabler of our strategy. Receiving this award makes us and our suppliers proud, and it energizes us to continue improving even further.”

Best New Program in Sustainable Procurement

Winner: Premier Foods PLC

This award recognizes best-in-class examples of launching global sustainable procurement programs that engage stakeholders and build a strong foundation for future growth.

The jury praised Premier Foods’ emphasis on regenerative agriculture and efforts to combat deforestation, which have successfully reduced supply chain emissions. Their “Enriching Life Plan” reflects a holistic approach to sustainability, delivering positive outcomes for both people and the planet.

Sarah Houghton, Head of Procurement and Supplier Sustainability Lead at Premier Foods, said:
“Our focus is on embedding sustainability into everything we do, with ESG at the heart of our operations. We’ve integrated sustainability objectives into our sourcing processes and roles, and we recognize that our greatest impact comes from collaboration across our value chain. This recognition from EcoVadis tells us we’re on the right track and motivates us to do even more.”

Outstanding Program Management

Winner: Gaëtan Madiès, BOBST Group

This award honors an individual who has made an exceptional contribution to advancing sustainable procurement within their company. Selected by the EcoVadis team, Gaëtan Madiès was recognized for his leadership in supplier engagement, capacity building, and integrating sustainability into procurement processes at BOBST.

Sylvain Lieb, Head of Corporate Sustainability at BOBST Group, commented:
“We are honored to see Gaëtan and our team recognized with the ‘Outstanding Program Management’ award. This reflects our shared commitment to building a more sustainable value chain.”

Outstanding Sustainability Leadership

Winner: Pascal Vieilvoye, Concept 4 Limited

Introduced in 2025, this award recognizes individuals who excel in advancing sustainability management systems, engaging stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement.

Since 2020, Pascal Vieilvoye, CEO of Concept 4, has led initiatives to enhance transparency and embed sustainability into every aspect of the company’s culture.

Pascal Vieilvoye said:
“We’ve worked hard to meet our clients’ expectations, and now we’re striving to conduct business in ways that do no harm and create benefits for all. Our small but dedicated team is passionate about creating a positive impact on the world, and this recognition inspires us to push our efforts even further.”

SME Recognition

In addition to the four main awards, EcoVadis also recognized a selection of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) worldwide that achieved exceptional performance in their EcoVadis assessments over the past year.
