Coca-Cola FEMSA Boosts CSD Production with Sidel’s Super Combi Installation at Jundiaí Plant !

Coca-Cola FEMSA, a major player in the global beverage market serving over 270 million consumers across Latin America, has ramped up its carbonated soft drink (CSD) production by installing Sidel’s Super Combi at its Jundiaí plant in Brazil. This move comes as the CSD market in the region experiences renewed growth driven by evolving consumer tastes and economic recovery.

Next-Generation Packaging Efficiency

Following the successful implementation of the Super Combi system in its Bauru plant’s water line, Coca-Cola FEMSA selected the all-in-one solution for its high-speed CSD operations. The Sidel Super Combi combines five essential units – preform feeder, blower, labeller, filler/capper, and cap feeder – into one compact and smart system. The integrated solution reduced the plant’s equipment footprint by up to 30%, replacing legacy wet block systems and fitting seamlessly into the existing production layout.

The result: a line now running at a remarkable 39,000 bottles per hour, handling up to 10 different bottle formats ranging from 200 ml to 2 liters.

Compact, Clean, and Sustainable

The Super Combi’s closed design reduces transfer points, lowering contamination risks and mechanical stress on lightweight PET bottles. This allows the use of thinner bottle walls without sacrificing quality.

Moreover, Coca-Cola FEMSA benefits from Sidel’s BlendFILL system, which merges mixing and filling operations into a single streamlined unit. This design not only simplifies the process and lowers system complexity, but it also reduces CO2 emissions and water usage during cleaning cycles – a crucial factor in the company’s sustainability strategy.

Smart Technology Meets Performance Goals

Further enhancing line performance, Sidel installed its Evo-ON Care and Performance apps, providing real-time monitoring and actionable insights to optimise Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). This digital toolkit helps identify and resolve efficiency bottlenecks quickly, ensuring consistent performance.

Aligned with its environmental commitments, Coca-Cola FEMSA uses 100% recycled PET (rPET) preforms in its production, and the Super Combi is fully compatible with rPET packaging.

Teamwork and Fast Deployment

The successful installation was the result of close collaboration between Coca-Cola FEMSA and Sidel’s sales, project, and service teams. Their joint effort ensured fast commissioning and a smooth transition to daily operations.

With this latest investment, Coca-Cola FEMSA is well-positioned to meet growing consumer demand while advancing its sustainability and efficiency goals in Latin America.
