Western Australia’s oldest dairy is rolling out a bold, beautiful brand redesign for its market-leading white milk range.
The new design honours the company’s deep connection to local dairy farmers and the land by drawing direct inspiration from the vibrant natural beauty of the South West region where its fresh white milk is sourced.
“Every day, our dedicated South West dairy farmers work tirelessly to provide the highest-quality product to WA families, and this landmark redesign is a deliberate business commitment to drive premium value back into our local agricultural sector,” said Nicole Ohm, Head of Marketing at Brownes Dairy.
Connection to the land
Rather than relying on old-fashioned, generic farm clichés, the new packaging connects consumers directly to the land through contemporary, abstract botanical brushstrokes hand-created by local artist Jordan Lee (@jortsdesign).
These expressive artistic forms evoke the unique flora, open skies, and rich agricultural landscapes of the South West, linking the stunning new aesthetic straight back to the local farms where the fresh milk is sourced.
“We wanted to create the most beautiful, premium design in the market to show that 100% fresh, fundamentally nutritious WA dairy is always worth paying for, especially when it supports our local farming communities,” Ms Ohm added.
The eye-catching bottles and cartons also feature clear nutritional labelling highlighting natural protein and fat content, designed to drive long-term consumer loyalty and recruit new dairy shoppers back into the category.
Market strength
The launch arrives at a time of peak market strength for the WA icon, with Brownes’ market share rising to its highest level in three years as the state’s number one branded white milk.
“Brownes Dairy has held pride of place on WA breakfast tables for 140 years, and as the state’s leading milk brand, this vibrant redesign is our gift back to the community to signal a better, more delicious value proposition for everyday dairy,” Ms Ohm said.
In a deliberate effort by Brownes Dairy to eliminate environmental waste and ensure no redundant packaging is written off, the new look will follow a sustainable, soft rollout in stores.
Consumers will notice 2L and 3L bottles transitioning to the vibrant South West-inspired artwork from late July, followed closely by the rest of the carton range.
