As part of the BA (Hons) Graphic Design course, university students showcased their creativity in an annual packaging design competition sponsored by Antalis. This year’s challenge focused on creating luxury packaging for the confectionery sector, using premium materials from Antalis’ paper and paperboard ranges.
The brief called for designs that deliver maximum shelf impact, convey a sense of luxury, and embed sustainability within the concept—three essential pillars of modern packaging design.
Gold was awarded to 30 Hour Chocolate Liqueurs, a striking concept by student Millie Lumley, which stood out from a shortlist of 13 impressive entries. Silver went to Florence Warne for her elegant Sister Pralines design, while Bronze was claimed by Maddison Whittaker with the innovative HUDU concept.
Reflecting on the competition, Steve Chappell, Graphical Board Development Manager at Antalis, said:
“This is the third year running that we have sponsored this competition, and it continues to be an inspiring experience. The quality of the entries and the creativity of the students are outstanding. It’s clear that the future of our industry is in very safe hands.”
Now in its third consecutive year, the initiative continues to nurture emerging design talent while highlighting the importance of luxury aesthetics, sustainability, and innovative thinking in the packaging world.
