In a bold step toward transforming the home and personal care packaging landscape, Elopak and Kompak Nederland BV have officially launched a dedicated showroom for D-PAK™ a groundbreaking sustainable carton packaging solution. Located at Kompak’s facility in Etten-Leur, the Netherlands, the new space is designed to offer customers a first-hand look at how cartons can replace traditional plastic packaging for everyday products like detergents, liquid soaps, and household cleaners.
A pioneer in carton-based packaging and filling solutions, Elopak has teamed up with Kompak a top European co-filler for home and personal care to accelerate the shift from plastic to more eco-conscious materials. The D-PAK™ showroom acts as a fully immersive experience center, placing the spotlight on design, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
Strategically positioned next to Kompak’s production floor, the showroom includes interactive touchpoints such as a multimedia “wall of cartons,” prototype displays, and lifecycle information, all of which vividly illustrate the marketing and environmental benefits of switching to carton packaging. It’s not just about seeing the solution it’s about feeling its potential.
To support actual production and fast market rollouts, two Elopak filling lines have already been installed at the Kompak site, with a third scheduled for later this year. This infrastructure allows brands to move quickly and flexibly toward more sustainable packaging without sacrificing speed or scale.
“At a time when digital interactions dominate, the value of tangible, hands-on experiences has grown enormously even in B2B,” says Dirk Endlich, Vice President P2C (Plastic to Carton) at Elopak. “The D-PAK™ showroom isn’t just a display it’s a statement. It’s where vision becomes reality.”
The D-PAK™ gable top carton is a central pillar of Elopak’s “Repackaging Tomorrow” strategy, which aims to significantly reduce plastic use in packaging. Compared to traditional formats like plastic bottles or pouches, D-PAK™ cartons cut plastic content by up to 80% all while maintaining full safety, functionality, and consumer convenience. The packaging serves as both a primary container and a refill option, making it a versatile choice for eco-minded brands.
Geert Buijsman, CEO of Kompak, sees vast opportunity: “The D-PAK™ carton is more than just packaging it’s a smarter business model. It brings sustainability, functionality, and cost-effectiveness together. With this new setup, we can help brands streamline processes, reduce environmental impact, and tap into new markets.”
With the combination of cutting-edge filling technology and a customer-focused experience center, Elopak and Kompak are positioning themselves as a ‘one-stop shop’ for brands looking to future-proof their packaging strategies.
This is more than a showroom it’s a gateway to the next generation of sustainable consumer goods.
