closure for prefilled syringes

vetterject® is a patented, readytouse closure system for prefilled syringes specially designed for complex, siliconesensitive compounds.  the new tamperevident closure system combines an integrated staked needle with a bakedin siliconization process for standard glass barrels. the closure vetterject® is steam sterilized separately and mounted to the syringe prior to filling. it allows the use in highlysensitive compounds such as biologics.  the system consisting of a needle hub and a needle shield. it is partly produced by means of a 2component injection molding process of polypropylene and thermoplastic elastomer. the product won two international awards prior to its launch the if design award and the red dot design award.
