a new policy aiming to standardize beverage labeling nationwide in china, specifically for bottled drinking water, has been unveiled in may 2015.according to the new standards, bottled water sold in china will be labeled as &quotpurified bottled water&quot or &quotother drinking water. &ldquobottled water labeled as &quotenergy water&quot or &quotfunctional water&quot will be banned from store shelves.there will also be a different made between &quotmineral spring water&quot and what is currently labeled as &quotmineral substance water,&quot which refers to water that had minerals artificially added to it during the production process.the &quotmineral substance water&quot label will be banned because it can be confused with bottled water labeled as &quotmineral spring water.&quotbeverage conglomerate cocacola said it will comply with the new regulations. still, bottled water produced before the new regulations will be allowed to sell in china until jan. 1, 2016.
