Silicone Valve Enables Controlled Dispensing
The bespoke closure features an integrated silicone valve designed to regulate sauce flow during dispensing, helping consumers pour sauces more conveniently and with greater control.
Manufactured using bi-injection technology, the two-colour closure is made entirely from polypropylene (PP). Its curved geometry gives the packaging a distinctive appearance on retail shelves, while its robust construction supports everyday use.
The design combines several functional and aesthetic features:
- Controlled dispensing: An integrated silicone valve helps regulate sauce flow.
- Bi-injection moulding: Enables a distinctive two-colour closure design.
- Polypropylene construction: The closure body uses PP as its primary material.
- Ergonomic functionality: A flip-top format supports convenient opening and dispensing.
- Shelf differentiation: The curved shape helps distinguish Choví products from competing sauce brands.
Designed for a Broad Sauce Portfolio
The closure is being deployed across multiple Choví products, including La Brava, Allioli, Cheddar, Kebab White, Ajonesa, Barbacoa, Ketchup, César, Yogur and Miel y Mostaza.
The development reflects the importance of closures as a critical component of the overall packaging experience. Beyond protecting the product, closures influence ease of use, dispensing precision and how consumers interact with a package after purchase.
Local Manufacturing and Collaborative Development
Choví selected Amcor for its closure expertise, established partnership and manufacturing capabilities in Spain. The companies collaborated to develop and deliver the customised solution within the required timeframe.
According to both companies, smooth operation was a key design requirement, reinforcing the role of closure engineering in delivering practical improvements to everyday food packaging.
