Hydropac, a leading provider of temperature-controlled packaging solutions, is celebrating 25 years of helping businesses protect temperature-sensitive products across food, healthcare, logistics, and other regulated sectors.
Founded in 2001, Hydropac has grown from a specialist product supplier into a trusted partner for companies navigating the increasingly complex challenges of modern cold chain logistics.
Over the past two and a half decades, the company has worked with organisations across food production, pharmaceutical distribution, retail logistics, and specialist manufacturing to ensure temperature-sensitive goods arrive safely, efficiently, and sustainably.
“Twenty-five years ago, the challenge was largely about supplying different shaped novelty ice packs to the retail world, with a growing emergence into suppling B2B Pharma,” said Colin Rowland, Managing Director at Hydropac.
“Today our customers are facing a much broader set of pressures - from tighter delivery windows and stricter regulations to growing ESG expectations. Our role has evolved alongside those needs.”
From Product Supplier to Cold Chain Problem-Solver
Over the past 25 years, Hydropac has steadily expanded its capabilities beyond supplying ice packs and temperature-controlled packaging.
Today the company works closely with customers to solve real-world cold chain challenges, supporting sectors including:
• Food and beverage distribution
• Pharmaceutical and healthcare logistics
• Direct-to-consumer chilled delivery
• Specialist industrial and laboratory supply chains
This shift reflects a broader industry trend, where cold chain performance is no longer simply about packaging, but about ensuring reliability, efficiency, and sustainability across entire distribution networks.
Hydropac’s continued investment in research and product development has enabled it to support these changing needs, including the recent launch of the next-generation HydroFreeze ice pack, which delivers faster freeze times, longer protection, and a more environmentally responsible water-based formulation.
Still Innovating After 25 Years
As temperature-controlled supply chains become more complex, innovation remains central to Hydropac’s strategy.
The company continues to focus on improving operational efficiency and sustainability for customers, helping them reduce energy use, improve cold chain integrity, and meet growing environmental expectations.
“Reaching our 25-year milestone is something we’re incredibly proud of,” Colin said.
“But our focus is firmly on the future, developing smarter solutions that help our customers operate more efficiently while protecting the products people depend on every day.”
Hydropac plans to continue strengthening its position within temperature-controlled supply chains, supporting both established industries and emerging sectors where reliable cold chain performance is becoming increasingly critical.
