Fedrigoni Self-Adhesives North America has introduced DS2, a clear-drying, water-soluble adhesive designed for label applications that require complete removal without leaving adhesive residue. Developed for use with water-dissolvable facestocks, DS2 is particularly suited for food service, healthcare, institutional, and laboratory environments where reusable containers require temporary identification.
The adhesive disperses in both hot and cold water, enabling labels to remain fully functional during use and then dissolve during cleaning processes such as washing, power washing, or industrial dishwashing. DS2 provides reliable adhesion to metal, HDPE, low-surface-energy plastics, and both smooth and lightly textured surfaces.
DS2 can be paired with Fedrigoni’s 47# Water Dissolvable Direct Thermal facestock, allowing the entire label construction to dissolve completely when immersed in water.
Potential applications include cafeteria and hospital tray labels, food preparation and expiration labels, produce tote identification, and laboratory labeling—applications where labels are required during use but must be removed cleanly before containers are cleaned and reused.
