
Korozo Group and Zertus UK & Ireland Drive Baileys' Success with Innovative Stand-Up Pouch Packaging
Korozo Group, a leader in flexible packaging solutions, has teamed up with Zertus UK & Ireland to introduce an award-winning packaging solution for Baileys Chocolate Nut Mix, a new product that takes the iconic Irish cream liqueur into the adult snack market.
The Baileys Chocolate Nut Mix combines chocolate-coated almonds with caramelised almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, peanuts, and salted toffee popcorn, all infused with a hint of Baileys flavour. This snack aims to reposition Baileys from an after-dinner drink to an anytime indulgence for adults.
For the product launch, Zertus UK & Ireland partnered with Korozo Group to create new stand-up pouches that would meet both functional and aesthetic requirements. Printed with eight colours using flexographic printing technology, the pouches feature a sophisticated visual appeal designed to stand out on crowded retail shelves. A partial surface matte lacquer further enhances the product's luxurious presentation.
To ensure optimal product preservation and sustainability, Korozo used its proprietary KoroRCY film, laminated with a PE layer and an EVOH component. This combination delivers the necessary barrier properties to maintain product integrity without compromising the recyclability of the packaging. The pouches also feature laser scribing for easy tear opening and an integrated zipper for resealing convenience.

The packaging’s impact on the product’s success was recently recognized at The Grocer New Product & Packaging Awards, where Baileys Chocolate Nut Mix was named Champion in the ‘Crisps, Nuts & Bagged Snacks’ category.
