The detergent powder packs was designed with perfume encapsulated so that, the consumers could experience & test the fragrance, on the retail shelves before purchasing it. The biggest technology breakthrough in this innovation was the controlled release of perfume that happens only upon physical interaction with the consumer when a stroke of a thumb or a scratch of a nail breaks some of the melamine microcapsules to release a whiff of the perfume.

This can be repeated several times on the retail shelves thus ensuring this special function survives a few shopper attempts at testing the fragrance.
