Sustainability is a central component of LINHARDT’s corporate philosophy. “Right from the start of the development of new products, environmental protection and the conservation of resources have top priority at LINHARDT,” says plant manager Christian Jungwirth. “We have set ourselves the goal of reducing our energy requirements as much as possible and we are committed to renewable sources. We want to continually increase the efficiency of our production”. As a result, numerous points have already been successfully implemented at LINHARDT. These include heat recovery during exhaust air purification, the expansion of LED lighting and the use of a CHP unit with 515 kW electrical output. And further investments are already being planned. For example, the next step is to purchase a new 200 kW absorption chiller and energy management software. “The networks are very well suited to bring about lasting improvements,” says Eva Helfert-Grothues, who, as moderator, is in charge of the three-year Southeast Bavarian network. “The exchange with like-minded people always generates new ideas, impulses and suggestions, which in many cases are put into practice in business,” reports the network expert from E.ON. Energy efficiency networks focus on concrete energy savings on site and in everyday operations. The companies are now countering an often abstract climate debate with very concrete measures with which they can optimally use electricity, heat, cooling or compressed air in their production. The network is supported by E.ON Energie Deutschland. Co-moderators are Bayernwerk Natur GmbH and E.ON Business Solutions GmbH. The Munich-based Forschungsgesellschaft für Energiewirtschaft mbH (FfE) from Munich is also on board for energy technology consulting. The partner companies “Southeast Bavaria is networking”: Airbus Defence and Space GmbH, Bischof + Klein SE & Co.KG, Erdenwerk Gregor Ziegler GmbH, Josef Witt GmbH, König Ludwig GmbH & Co. KG – Schloßbrauerei Kaltenberg, LINHARDT GmbH & Co. KG, Molkerei MEGGLE Wasserburg GmbH & Co. KG, Motherson/ SMP Deutschland GmbH, RKW SE Wasserburg, SLR Giesserei St. Leon-Rot GmbH, The Lorenz Bahlsen Snack-World GmbH & Co. KG – Werk Neunburg vorm Wald, Wewatec GmbH – Werkstofftechnik Wackersdorf
