Durham Box creates premium festive gifting experience for Ringtons

Commissioned for Ringtons’ 2025 Christmas gifting range, the one-piece box with lid (300 × 200 × 80 mm) features a clay-coated outer liner and white kraft inner liner, digitally printed on both sides for full-colour impact inside and out.

Durham Box manufactured 15,000 units for the project, and it said the standout feature is intricate laser-cutting that reveals the print beneath and delivers a tactile, visually distinct finish which its not achievable with standard die-cutting technology.

Serena Philipson, head of product, Ringtons, said: “This pack has been a real hero for our festive range, with the laser-cut detailing adding a premium, precision finish that transforms what would otherwise be a standard gift box. Introducing laser technology required close collaboration, particularly around achieving perfect colour alignment beneath the detailed cut areas, but the outcome has been worth the focus.

“We’re now exploring further laser-cut formats for a major gifting occasion early next year,” said Philipson. “The positive reaction from both our sales team and customers has already translated into increased orders.”

Sally Caton, business development manager, Durham Box, said: “We really wanted to focus on the uniqueness of the pack itself, and the laser detailing achieves something that couldn’t have been done using a standard die-cutter. It gives the pack a clear point of difference and opens up exciting creative possibilities for gifting.”
