Syntegon will introduce the next evolution of its SVX vertical form, fill and seal (VFFS) platform at interpack 2026, featuring a new corner seal capability that significantly expands bag-format flexibility on a single machine platform.
The enhanced SVX configuration enables manufacturers to process advanced bag styles including corner sealed block-bottom, Full Corner, and Doypack formats alongside conventional packaging styles. Designed for confectionery, snacks, and bakery applications, these premium formats improve shelf appearance and product stability while supporting growing consumer demand for high-quality packaging.
To overcome the traditional performance limitations associated with corner sealing, Syntegon engineered the SVX system to achieve speeds of up to 120 bags per minute. A newly integrated automatic axial adjustment system continuously monitors and corrects film reel positioning, ensuring precise corner seal alignment and stable production even after reel changes. Advanced web tracking further minimizes operator intervention, improving uptime and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
The platform also enhances usability through guided operator assistance during format changes, reducing setup times and improving process reproducibility. Improved machine accessibility allows operators to access forming and sealing units from multiple sides, simplifying adjustments and maintenance while increasing operational confidence.
Supporting sustainability goals, the new SVX corner seal capability is optimized for processing mono-material packaging structures, which are typically more difficult to handle in demanding corner seal applications. Enhanced process control and reproducibility also reduce material waste during setup and commissioning, helping manufacturers improve both efficiency and environmental performance.
