Go-Pak Introduces Clarity: 100% Recycled PET Drinkware with 100% Recyclable Design

A new approach to recycled-content foodservice packaging

Go-Pak has introduced Clarity, a range of foodservice drinkware manufactured using 100% recycled PET (rPET) and designed to be 100% recyclable.

The range is aimed at businesses looking for higher recycled content in foodservice packaging while maintaining the clarity, strength and appearance expected from transparent cold-drink cups. Unlike conventional products that combine recycled and virgin PET, Go-Pak says Clarity contains no virgin PET.

100% recycled PET, without compromising appearance

One of the key challenges with recycled plastic packaging is achieving the visual quality expected from transparent packaging.

Go-Pak has positioned Clarity around premium transparency, with the cups designed to provide clear visibility of beverages and desserts while maintaining strength and performance for high-volume foodservice applications.

The range is suitable for applications including:

  • Iced coffee and cold brew
  • Smoothies and juices
  • Bubble tea
  • Matcha and iced tea
  • Milkshakes and soft drinks
  • Desserts and layered food products
  • Takeaway and grab-and-go applications

Mono-material design supports recyclability

Another important feature of Clarity is its clear mono-material PET construction.

Go-Pak says the packaging is designed to work with established PET recycling systems. The company's proposed circular lifecycle begins with collection and sorting, followed by PET processing into recycled flakes and resin, which is then used to manufacture new Clarity drinkware.

This creates a simple circular model:

Used PET → Collection → Sorting → Recycling → rPET Resin → New Cups → Recycling

Why 100% recycled content matters

The move from partial recycled content to 100% recycled PET is significant for brands and foodservice operators facing increasing expectations around recycled-content claims and sustainability reporting.

Go-Pak states that its existing Go-rPET range remains a 30% recycled-content option, while Clarity is positioned as a higher recycled-content alternative for customers looking to move beyond baseline requirements.

This distinction could become increasingly important as brands and packaging buyers assess packaging against recycled-content targets and extended producer responsibility requirements.

Designed for high-volume foodservice

Clarity is targeted at environments where packaging needs to combine sustainability with practical performance.

The cups are intended for cafés, hospitality venues, universities and other high-volume foodservice environments where transparent packaging helps showcase the product while maintaining durability during handling and service.

Go-Pak also says the range is supported by its international manufacturing and logistics network as part of SCG Packaging (SCGP).

Packaging industry significance

The development highlights an important direction in plastic packaging:

The next stage of rPET adoption is not simply increasing recycled content—it is combining high recycled content with performance, appearance and recyclability.

For foodservice packaging, this is particularly relevant because transparent cups need to satisfy both consumer-facing aesthetics and material-performance requirements.

Clarity demonstrates how recycled PET can be positioned not as a compromise material, but as the primary material for a premium-looking packaging format.
