At the FESPA Global Print Expo 2025 in Berlin, AstroNova, Inc. (Nasdaq: ALOT) introduced a suite of high-performance digital printing solutions, marking a significant advancement in the product identification segment. The launch includes the QuickLabel® QL-425 and QL-435 professional label presses, alongside the VP-800 direct-to-package printer, designed to meet the evolving needs of label converters and print service providers (PSPs) focusing on medium-volume runs.
The QL-425 and QL-435 presses, catering to A4 and A3 widths respectively, integrate advanced hardware with intelligent automation, enabling users to scale output efficiently while minimizing operating costs. The VP-800 expands AstroNova's capabilities into direct printing on sustainable packaging materials, such as corrugated cardboard, paper bags, and wood, aligning with the industry's shift towards eco-friendly solutions.
"This lineup isn't just a refresh—it's a complete rethink of what medium-volume production can look like," stated Greg Woods, CEO of AstroNova. "We've designed these machines to give converters and PSPs the edge they need: more control, more uptime, and significantly lower operating costs."
These innovations are a direct result of AstroNova's strategic acquisition of MTEX NS in May 2024, a move that has significantly bolstered the company's technological prowess and market reach. The integration has expanded AstroNova's sales team from a handful to 40 personnel through cross-training programs and has broadened its distributor network, enhancing the company's ability to serve a diverse customer base effectively.
In addition to product advancements, AstroNova has streamlined its executive leadership, reducing direct reports to the CEO from ten to seven, aiming for improved communication and faster decision-making. This restructuring is part of a broader initiative expected to yield $3 million in annualized cost savings by the third quarter of fiscal 2026.
AstroNova's latest offerings underscore its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence, positioning the company as a formidable player in the digital printing industry.
