TBM is pleased to announce that it has developed "CirculeX," a high-performance recycled material made from post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics. Using household-sourced plastic containers and packaging as a feedstock and leveraging TBM's proprietary compounding and melt-kneading technologies cultivated through its materials development, TBM has overcome two key barriers associated with PCR materials: deterioration in material properties and unpleasant odor.
The updated range, available now in both jar and squeezy formats, includes enhanced packaging features designed to reinforce Rowse’s premium Manuka position within the honey category. A combination of textured, uncoated substrates and coloured hot foils now defines the visual identity of the product line. Each SKU, including the 500+ MGO variant, is distinguished by a specific foil colour, helping customers easily identify product types and supporting brand recognition.
The Tamil Nadu government has informed the Madras High Court of having requested the Indian Institute of Technology -Madras (IIT-M) to conduct a scientific study regarding the harmful effects of microplastics on human health due to consumption of food products such as milk, coffee, tea and hot sambar sold in plastic pouches.

Spectra supplied 250ml Eclipse Oval bottles (ref. 1033) in 100% recycled PET from a Prevented Ocean Plastic (POP) source. The bottles were paired with flip-top caps (ref. 3017) containing 35% POP PCR. The flip-top caps were colour-matched onsite by Spectra’s specialists, ensuring brand consistency and strong shelf appeal.

The RVO project “AI-Strap: Accelerating Circular Plastics with Solvent-Based Recycling Intelligence” aims to tackle complex waste streams such as multilayer plastic packaging. This type of packaging cannot be recycled with current technologies.
“Multilayer plastics present a major challenge for recycling,” says project lead Željko Tomović of the TU/e Polymer Performance Materials group.
For example, the thin plastic protecting produce from rotting is “extremely” hard to recycle, as it consists of multiple layers of different polymers.
