Developed by Norwalt Digital, Tesseract is designed to give manufacturers greater flexibility in how products are decorated, personalized and produced. The platform combines advanced direct-to-object (DTO) digital printing with intelligent automation and Beckhoff's XPlanar magnetic planar transport technology, allowing individual products to move, rotate and dynamically reposition through the decoration process. The cell can also incorporate a label head, giving manufacturers the flexibility to use direct printing, applied labels, or a combination of decoration technologies within the same automated platform.
The result is a flexible decoration cell built around the changing needs of modern manufacturers: more SKUs, shorter product lifecycles, increased personalization, regional variations and growing pressure to reduce finished-goods inventory.
Rather than prescribing a single decoration method, Tesseract gives manufacturers a platform that can support the decoration strategy best suited to the product, application and production requirement. Direct-to-object printing can apply graphics, branding, variable information and other visual elements directly to a product or package, while an integrated label head can support applications where pressure-sensitive labels remain the preferred solution.
