Pregis has launched Sharp InfinX, an automated packaging system designed to produce precisely sized mailers for individual orders, helping e-commerce fulfilment operations reduce excess packaging material and improve operational efficiency.
Announced on October 7, 2026, the new system expands Pregis’ Sharp portfolio of automated mailing and bagging solutions. It is designed for retailers and third-party logistics (3PL) providers handling a wide variety of products and order sizes.
Automated Packaging for Diverse Product Sizes
Conventional fulfilment operations often rely on standard-sized mailers or maintain inventories of multiple packaging sizes. These approaches can result in excess packaging material, additional handling, increased storage requirements and higher shipping costs.
Sharp InfinX addresses these challenges by producing mailers tailored to individual orders. The system is designed to integrate into existing packing lines or support new automated fulfilment operations.
Flexible Material Options
The system supports machinable-grade versions of Pregis EverTec paper mailers and Pregis Poly Lite materials. Available formats include paper, non-cushioned polyethylene and cushioned polyethylene, allowing businesses to select packaging according to product protection and operational requirements.
Its recipe-driven changeover functionality enables operators to switch between materials through the machine’s control interface without manual tooling. A compact vertical footprint is intended to support installation in both established fulfilment centres and space-constrained facilities.
Supporting Efficient and Sustainable Fulfilment
By matching mailer dimensions more closely to product size, Sharp InfinX aims to reduce unnecessary packaging material and dimensional shipping costs while minimising manual handling.
The system is intended for applications across beauty, wellness, home goods, electronics, pet products and other e-commerce categories.
Pregis will demonstrate Sharp InfinX at Pack Expo International 2026, taking place October 18–21 at McCormick Place in Chicago, USA, at booth S-3874.
The launch reflects the growing role of automated, right-sized packaging in helping fulfilment operations balance productivity, product protection, shipping costs and material efficiency.
