Schreiner MediPharm and HERMA have partnered to develop an integrated RFID labeling solution for the pharmaceutical industry, combining robust RFID labels with precision labeling technology to deliver high process reliability, even in high-speed applications.
As RFID and NFC adoption grows across pharmaceutical manufacturing for traceability, automated medication management, tamper evidence, and process digitalization, the industry faces increasing challenges related to chip durability, labeling precision, and process stability. The joint solution from Schreiner MediPharm and HERMA is specifically designed to address these requirements.
Schreiner MediPharm’s Robust RFID Labels feature a specialized chip-protection design that offers exceptional resistance to mechanical stress and impact. The labels are suitable for small-radius containers such as vials and syringes while ensuring consistent RFID readability throughout the product lifecycle.
When combined with HERMA’s pharmaceutical-grade labeling technology, the system significantly reduces RFID chip damage during application. Validation trials conducted on HERMA’s 132M HC wrap-around labeling machine demonstrated near-zero RFID chip breakage rates compared to conventional labeling solutions.
The integrated solution was showcased through a live demonstration at interpack 2025, highlighting reliable and cost-effective RFID labeling under real pharmaceutical production conditions.
