In a significant move towards sustainable luxury, Japanese beauty brand SUQQU has introduced a new setting powder compact crafted from Eastman's Cristal™ One copolyester. This innovative material not only meets SUQQU's high standards for durability and aesthetics but also aligns with global sustainability goals.
Cristal™ One is recognized by the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) and RecyClass as compatible with the resin identification code 1 (RIC1) stream, allowing it to be recycled through most municipal systems. This makes SUQQU's compact not only elegant but also environmentally responsible.
The material offers superior performance, particularly in drop impact resistance after secondary processing, ensuring the compact's durability. Its ability to maintain a deep, glossy black finish enhances the product's luxury appeal, a feature that was challenging to achieve with the previously used ABS material.
Since its launch in February, the sustainable compact has exceeded expectations, achieving over 187% of its monthly target sales. This success reflects a growing consumer demand for products that combine luxury with sustainability.
