Sealed Air announces ProPad Mini System

Protective packaging provider Sealed Air, Charlotte, N.C., shared that is expanding its paper cushioning portfolio with the introduction of the SEALED AIR ProPad Mini. The ProPad Mini is a compact system that grows the company’s scalable protective packaging strategy to space-constrained fulfillment operations.

ProPad helps customers maximize limited pack station space, reduce operator movement and deliver consistent, on-demand paper cushioning for reliable product protection, the company says. As ecommerce operations aim to meet increasing fulfillment demands while maximizing labor efficiency, packaging stations must allow for faster, more streamlined workflows, Sealed Air adds.

Specifically designed for space constrained environments, the new systems delivers on-demand paper cushioning from a compact footprint with flexible mounting options that help customers maximize valuable pack station space and improve operational efficiency.

“Customers need protective packaging solutions that can scale with their operations — from compact manual pack stations to high-volume and automated environments,” said Byron Racki, Sealed Air’s global protective president, in a statement. “ProPad Mini fills an important role in that portfolio giving operators a flexible, easy-to-use paper cushioning solution that fits smaller workspaces while delivering the protective performance and operational reliability they expect from Sealed Air.”

Features of the system include the following:

  • Compact footprint for space-constrained pack stations
  • Multiple mounting configurations, including shelf tabletop, swing-arm and floor stand options
  • Custom-length paper pads as small as six inches
  • Operates at speeds of 120 feet per minute or more
  • Repositionable touchscreen human-machine interface and ergonomic foot pedal controls
  • One-ply and two-ply fanfold paper compatibility for a range of cushioning applications

The ProPad Mini supports applications ranging from light cushioning and void-fill to medium cushioning across ecommerce, third party logistics, shipping and distribution operations. The system expands the company’s growing portfolio of paper cushioning solutions designed to power a variety of packaging environments and operational needs. It is supported by Sealed Air’s integrated paper supply network, which includes a closed-loop water system to process recycled fiber feedstock at its paper mills, helping reduce environmental impact while maintaining consistent material quality, the company notes.

“With ProPad Mini, we’re further rounding out Sealed Air’s industry-leading portfolio of flexible, fiber-based protective packaging solutions,” Racki said. “Its compact design gives customers another way to match the right packaging system to their operation, from smaller manual pack stations to higher-volume and automated environments.”

ProPad Mini is part of Sealed Air’s broader protective packaging portfolio, combining paper cushioning with equipment and automation options to support a wide range of fulfillment environments. Alongside AUTOBAG brand automated packaging systems and BUBBLE WRAP brand protective materials, the new system gives customers more ways to balance protection, labor efficiency, operational flexibility and packaging requirements across the supply chain.

With this compact, space-efficient option joining its paper cushioning lineup, Sealed Air now offers solutions that span from smaller manual pack stations to higher-volume and more automated packaging environments.
