Röchling Medical offers co-extrusion

Applications:

1) Storing aggressive filling materials (e.g., hazardous materials)

2) Improved water-vapor barriers (moisture-sensitive substances)

Advantages:

1) Improved barrier properties compared to monomaterials

2) Allows individual layers with different colorations (e.g., UV protection or company-specific color aspects)

3) Placing barriers in the middle ensures that they do not touch products

Disadvantages:

1) Production waste only reusable to a limited extent within closed circuits, since mill material is not pure

2) Admixtures can be realized in a layer that does not come in direct contact with the product

3) Recycling desirable for cost reasons
