Japanese snack brand switches to black & white print following Iran war supply disruptions

It is thought that supplies of an ingredient used in ink have been disrupted by the Iran war.

Fourteen product variants of Potato Chips, Kappa Ebisen, and Frugra will switch to two-ink colours.

The company said: “Calbee will continue to respond flexibly and promptly to changes in its operating environment, including geopolitical risks, and remains committed to maintaining a stable supply of safe, high‑quality products.”

Short Description
Japanese snack brand Calbee is to temporarily revise packaging specifications for some of its products in response to supply instability affecting some raw materials amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
