Huhtamaki has unveiled ProDairy, an innovative range of recyclable single-coated paper cups specifically designed for yogurt and other dairy products. With less than 10% plastic content across the range, ProDairy meets strict food safety standards while remaining fully recyclable in Europe.
A key challenge in dairy packaging—achieving a secure lid fit and seal—has been overcome through a proprietary rim design and forming process. The cups also benefit from a unique sealing varnish that ensures strong side seam performance, crucial for maintaining product integrity.
Additionally, the outer polyethylene layer has been replaced with a custom-developed varnish that retains a paper-like, matt finish while delivering a high moisture barrier—ideal for chilled storage. Rigorously tested and ready for market, ProDairy offers the functional performance of traditional packaging with a significantly reduced environmental footprint.
