Hubergroup Introduces Advanced Resin Technology for Next-Generation Offset Inks !

Global printing ink specialist hubergroup has announced the launch of a new generation of conventional offset inks featuring advanced resin technology designed to improve print performance, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency for commercial and packaging printers worldwide.

According to the company, the newly developed formulation delivers measurable improvements in printing stability while maintaining consistently high print quality. The innovation will be rolled out across several established ink series, including RESISTA, RAPIDA ECO, ECO-PERFECT-DRY, PACKAGING PLUS, MGA NATURA, and MGA CORONA.

Focus on Print Stability and Reduced Waste

Resins play a critical role in offset ink systems, influencing viscosity, tack, adhesion, drying behavior, and resistance to misting. By leveraging its in-house resin manufacturing capabilities, hubergroup developed a formulation tailored specifically to modern high-speed printing requirements.

Richard Gill, Product Manager Sheetfed at hubergroup, stated that the company’s internal resin expertise allowed it to engineer inks with improved operational performance and greater consistency during production runs.

Long-term production testing reportedly demonstrated several operational advantages, including:

  • Significant reduction in misting
  • Wider water window for stable printing
  • Lower dampening requirements
  • Fewer make-ready sheets
  • Improved colour consistency and print density stability

These improvements are expected to help printers reduce setup waste, optimize machine performance, and improve overall pressroom productivity.

Supporting the Packaging Industry’s Evolving Needs

The launch comes at a time when packaging and commercial printing companies are increasingly seeking higher efficiency, lower waste generation, and more stable production processes. Industry experts note that reducing misting and minimizing make-ready sheets can significantly lower operational costs, especially for high-volume packaging converters operating high-speed presses.

hubergroup confirmed that the new resin technology will be introduced globally across its conventional offset portfolio during the first half of 2026. Importantly, existing product names and sales codes will remain unchanged to ensure a smooth transition for customers.

Expanding Innovation Across Print Solutions

The latest development further strengthens hubergroup’s broader innovation strategy in printing and packaging solutions. In recent months, the company has also introduced LED-curing food packaging inks and expanded its additives portfolio for coatings and printing applications, reflecting growing industry demand for sustainable and high-performance print technologies.

With packaging printers under increasing pressure to improve productivity, maintain colour consistency, and meet sustainability targets, innovations in ink chemistry and resin technology are expected to play a crucial role in the future of commercial and packaging printing.
