Sun Chemical will present its latest innovations for metal packaging at Stand 3A39, Hall 3 during METPACK 2026, taking place from 5–8 May 2026 in Essen, Germany. Formaldehyde-Free Inks for 2-Piece Cans
A major highlight will be the newly launched, patent-pending SunDuo Mashu inks. Designed without formaldehyde-based raw materials, these inks enhance industrial hygiene and user safety. UV and UV LED Ink Technologies
The company will also present advanced UV and UV LED ink systems for 3-piece cans, enabling a shift from traditional gas oven curing to lower-carbon curing processes. A next-generation ink management system will be showcased, designed to streamline graphics preparation and ink handling in 2-piece can production. The software integrates seamlessly with Sun Chemical’s color management ecosystem, including PantoneLIVE™ metal-specific libraries, ensuring improved efficiency and color accuracy.
Digital Color Management & Standardization
Visitors will experience digital tools that enable precise and consistent color reproduction across various substrates. These solutions are aligned with international standards such as ISO 12647-9, ensuring reliable print quality in metal packaging applications.
Digital Printing for Flexibility & Customization
Sun Chemical will highlight digital print technologies that support short production runs and rapid design cycles, unlocking new possibilities for customization and faster time-to-market.
Live Demonstrations in Collaboration
In collaboration with Canjet and CMA, Sun Chemical will conduct live demonstrations of metal package printing. The showcased digital proofing solution is capable of producing standard cans comparable to those created through conventional printing, enabling faster proofing cycles and more efficient design validation.
