Stevanato Group has expanded its drug delivery portfolio with Deora™, a multi-use, fixed-dose pen injector platform designed to simplify self-administration while supporting the growing demand for injectable therapies such as diabetes, obesity and other chronic disease treatments. The platform addresses a key gap between single-use autoinjectors and variable-dose pen injectors by combining ease of use with manufacturing efficiency and sustainability.
Deora™ features an intuitive pull-to-set, push-to-deliver mechanism that eliminates the need for manual dose selection. By delivering a pre-set dose with every injection, the device helps reduce dosing errors while providing audible and tactile feedback to confirm successful dose setting and administration. It also incorporates an automatic last-dose lock that prevents further use once the prescribed number of injections has been delivered.
The platform is compatible with standard 1.5 mL and 3 mL glass cartridges and supports fixed-dose delivery volumes of up to 0.75 mL. Depending on therapy requirements, a single device can deliver up to seven fixed-dose injections, reducing the need for multiple disposable injectors while improving convenience for patients undergoing long-term treatment.
Beyond patient usability, Deora™ has been engineered as a scalable platform for pharmaceutical manufacturers. Its modular architecture features a low component count and accommodates multiple dose-volume configurations with minimal design changes. The device is also compatible with standard final assembly processes, enabling manufacturers to leverage existing production infrastructure and accelerate commercialisation.
Stevanato Group further strengthens the offering through its integrated capabilities, combining drug delivery devices with glass primary packaging, analytical services and GMP-compliant final assembly equipment. This end-to-end approach is intended to streamline technology transfer, simplify supply chains and reduce time to market for pharmaceutical companies developing injectable therapies.
As demand continues to grow for biologics, biosimilars and GLP-1-based therapies, Deora™ reflects the industry's shift towards patient-centric, sustainable and scalable drug delivery solutions. By bridging the gap between reusable pen injectors and disposable autoinjectors, the platform offers pharmaceutical developers a flexible solution that enhances patient experience while supporting efficient manufacturing and lower environmental impact
