Springpack announces 100% PCR recyclable pallet wrap

Springpack states the new wrap is tear-resistant with superior holding force and cling. The company adds that at 15 microns, Armour Wrap ECO offers ‘outstanding strength and efficiency’, helping to reduce material use without sacrificing stability.

The use of PCR film reportedly cuts down on virgin plastic usage and reduces Scope 3 emissions. The wrap is suitable for warehouses, distributors, and logistics operations.

Springpack is offering free trials for interested businesses, available through the company website.

In related news, Zeus Packaging unveiled its Apollo Pallet Wrapping System in January, designed to reduce plastic consumption by up to 60%, save time, cut costs, and significantly reduce businesses’ carbon footprint and Scope 3 emissions. According to Zeus, Apollo allows businesses to monitor key metrics including film net weight per pallet, meters used per pallet and the number of pallets produced during any requested period.

Ranpak recently integrated PaperWrap’s pallet wrapping machines - which replace plastic stretch film with a kraft paper alternative from Mondi - into its portfolio, aiming to enhance efficiency and lower greenhouse gas emissions in transit. Apparently, the machinery fits ‘seamlessly’ into customers’ existing operations, including warehouse layout, ergonomics, and throughput demands, with European customers like IKEA said to have adopted these solutions previously.
