Korozo Group Unveils Next-Gen Circular Packaging Innovations on World Environment Day 2025

In celebration of World Environment Day 2025, Korozo Group an international powerhouse in flexible packaging is seizing the moment to reaffirm its commitment to sustainability with bold innovation and a clear call to industry peers: it’s time to accelerate the shift toward a circular economy.

Amid this year’s #BeatPlasticPollution theme, Korozo is spotlighting its latest advancements in recyclable, post-consumer recycled (PCR) flexible packaging solutions. At the forefront is KoroRCY, the company’s proprietary mono-material laminated film, engineered to align with polyethylene (PE) recycling streams. Notably, many of Korozo’s flexible packaging structures now include 30% PCR content, offering a future-proof solution that helps global brands meet rising regulatory standards including the EU’s 2030 recyclability and PCR content targets.

“Our vision goes beyond product development it's about embedding sustainability into every layer of our operations,” said Adam Barnett, CEO of Korozo Group. “As we face intensifying environmental and economic pressures, the packaging industry has a powerful role to play in shaping circular systems that reduce waste and regenerate resources.”

Currently, about two-thirds of Korozo’s total output is made up of recyclable structures, marking a significant leap toward environmental responsibility. These innovations are already reaching markets across diverse industries from confectionery to pet food to fresh produce via pouches, lidding films, and flow packs designed to close the loop.

Dr. Betül Türel Erbay, Chief Innovation and Sustainability Officer, emphasized the company’s collaborative approach: “Our extrusion and material science expertise allows us to partner with brands in creating packaging that is not only functional and attractive but also future-ready. We are positioning Korozo at the heart of the circular packaging ecosystem.”

As Korozo continues scaling its capabilities, World Environment Day serves as both a milestone and a momentum builder. “This is a collective mission,” added Dr. Erbay. “We invite others in the flexible packaging world to innovate with us to reimagine packaging not as waste, but as a resource for change.”
