CCL Label unveils sustainable dairy packaging portfolio to meet PPWR goals

The customised portfolio is engineered to support dairy brands in making a smooth transition to packaging that is designed for recycling, helps reduce their environmental impact and carbon footprint, and ensures compliance with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations in the rapidly changing regulatory environment.

CCL’s newly launched solutions have been developed to integrate with current recycling streams.

Marika Knorr, head of sustainability, emphasised the market context, stating: “As regulations tighten and consumer demand for sustainable packaging increases, we are proud to support the dairy industry with solutions that not only meet functionality and branding needs but are also aligned with the future of circular packaging. This new portfolio is a step forward in helping our customers reduce their environmental impact and meet the recyclability criteria outlined in the PPWR proposal.”

Highlighting the specialised nature of the offering, Reinhard Streit, group vice president food and beverage global, noted the collaborative R&D effort behind the launch. “Launching a portfolio designed for the specific needs of the dairy industry such as light-blocking and other barrier properties is a result of our ongoing research and development work and different business units within CCL collaborating,” he said. Streit added that the high-protein trend is driving significant innovation in dairy products, which CCL is keen to match with the “right packaging.”
