Durham Box creates premium festive gifting experience for Ringtons

Commissioned for Ringtons’ 2025 Christmas gifting range, the one-piece box with lid (300 × 200 × 80 mm) features a clay-coated outer liner and white kraft inner liner, digitally printed on both sides for full-colour impact inside and out.

Durham Box manufactured 15,000 units for the project, and it said the standout feature is intricate laser-cutting that reveals the print beneath and delivers a tactile, visually distinct finish which its not achievable with standard die-cutting technology.

TOPPAN Holdings Acquires Asahi Kasei’s Patented Brittle Lidding Material Technology for Push-through Blister Packs

TOPPAN Holdings Inc. has reached an agreement to acquire Asahi Kasei Corporation’s patented technology related to brittle lidding material for push-through blister packs,1 completing the transfer on November 28.

By fusing the acquired brittle lidding material technology with the TOPPAN Group’s barrier and packaging technologies, TOPPAN Holdings is aiming to advance a full-scale entry into the global push-through blister pack market.

Tweak updates Palmolive Dish packaging

The bottles use large-scale fruit photography paired with vignettes intended to highlight variant ingredients and link product benefit with imagery. Bold descriptors are positioned within the key visual and continue into the Palmolive brandmark area for cohesion.

The design is intended to appeal to what the company describes as a hedonist consumer.

The range uses preforms made and blown in Australia, with resin processed locally from a mix of Australian and imported flake. FujiSeal labels for the range were produced in Vietnam.

Popular pain ointment pulled from shelves after safety concern involving children

More than 50,000 containers of a widely sold pain-relief ointment have been recalled after federal officials warned the packaging could put young children at risk of serious injury or death if accidentally swallowed.

Plantimex Distributors announced the recall of its Mamisan Pain Relieving Topical Ointment after determining the product’s lid failed to meet child-resistant requirements under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act, according to a notice published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The new transport box has been designed to protect Hallstein’s glass bottle consignments during transportation to e-commerce customers, and comprised of corrugated cardboard, they are intended to replace the brand’s previous packaging solution, which was dependant on Polyethylene, a closed cell foam, also referred to as a PE foam for inlay and inserts.

Dr Jessie Sutherland, of HMRI’s Women’s Health program, has been awarded a $1 million Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) grant through the National Health & Medical Research Council (NHMRC).

Emerging evidence highlights the pressing issue of plastic toxicants, bisphenols — specifically BPA, BPS, and BPF— used in food and beverage packaging and their transfer into our food and drinks, which poses significant health risks, particularly for egg quality and female fertility.

To achieve this, print production agency COUSIN appointed packaging design company Burgopak to develop a solution that balances visual impact, practicality, and shipping efficiency. Burgopak’s team selected their proprietary Coupe pack, designed to minimize dead space. It presents the 15 supplement sticks at an angle – they lie staggered for a visually engaging display. The materials and design were optimised for efficient material use and practical strength.

Amcor collaborates with industry leaders for Danish food packaging recycling project

Besides Amcor, the project will involve major food manufacturers and waste management specialists. Amcor will bring recycling and technical expertise from its state-of-the-art CleanStream® facility in Leamington Spa, UK, and their packaging production facility in Randers, Denmark, utilizing its knowledge, skills and experience in producing and designing food packaging in recycled materials.
