Packaging That Talks To Your Phone

A London packaging company is leaping into the future with new “smart” pharmaceutical packaging that will talk to your smartphone.

By next year Jones Packaging will be turning out a carton that will deter counterfeiting and product tampering and tell you everything you need to know about the medication through the Internet.

The company has partnered with Thin Film Electronics, a Norwegian company that has developed a flexible film printed with a circuit that can convey information similar to the silicon chip in your credit card used for “tap and go” payments.

Packaging Of Pipes

In this case the requirement was to ship several long pipes with small diameters in a wooden crate. The benefit of using wooden crates is that they can be used for packaging with minimal amount of wood. In this case since the pipes were long it would have required a lot of material to create one big wooden crate. So two such crates were made to create a platform on which the pipes could be loaded. The pipes had to be choked and lashed inside these two wooden crates to ensure that they did not move while transportation.

The new tube comes in one piece. A hinge connects the base and the top. To reveal the lipstick bullet, the consumer flips the top cap and turns the mechanism, which is made accessible through a window. The company said the lipstick can be opened and closed with one hand, making the design ideal for multi-tasking.According to Axilone, the packaging is made of polypropylene and can be finished with a chape metal trimming in aluminum to satisfy upmarket needs.

With this packaging, they overcame a temperature limit of 266 degrees Fahrenheit for water-based adhesive for retort. This improves packaging material safety by reducing organic solvents in expanded applications. Droplid is designed to reduce the strength required to open a glass jar by utilising the form of the jar itself and the material choices to be more accessible for elders and children. The form the lid and jar reduces the grip strength needed to open the lid by benefiting from the elongated edge that fits on your palm and act as a lever. The symmetrical side of the lid is to accommodate both left or right handed user.
The thick lid offers extra surface for the user to grip. The side of the lid utilise textures to reduce the hand from slipping.
