What is your educational background? How did you get involved in the Packaging industry?

I am a graduate in chemical engineering. In my existing company,  wherein I am now completing two decades and was working as production officer . Due to unexpected market demand of one of our product, I was deputed in production dept. for a short period. In this tenure of my job, I was very much influenced by the packaging activities which had made to take a decision in packaging field. To fulfill my desire, I decided to join a reputed packaging institute to get additional qualification .As I was very open to my senior I updated them about my this qualification and fortunately there was an expansion of packaging dept as our growth rate was very high and management decided to utilize my services in the respective dept and thus I got involved in the packaging industry.
 

Your key activities at work? What is the most rewarding part of your work?

My major activity is to control the production at various manufacturing sites by providing them day to day technical support, guideline and decision. There are everyday challenges in my work, since we are a leading pharmaceutical company, to achieve the daily target with the complete adherence of quality system on time, is the most rewarding part of my work.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Since we have multi-location manufacturing facilities, the production dept undergoes various types of expected problem may be due to some machine/materials/manpower issue.To analyze the same and  find out the root cause is the major headaches which I undergo everyday and to overcome this problem in the shortest time is the big challenge in my work. 
 

Your key achievements?

Packaging in pharma industries is now become a corporate dept. which has to work very smartly in-order to have smooth running of production and at the same time it satisfies the customer by providing them the excellent  and cost effective packaging for their product and market.
 

what is one thing about the industry that you would change?

I feel ,in Parma packaging industry, there is still a lot of scope for new thoughts and developments and I am also working and developing on an innovative thought which will definitely result in an exclusive product (which will help in reducing global worming ) to the packaging industry and will be a milestone In this field. As I am having my research on the same and I feel this is not the right time to reveal , but I am sure whenever I have next interview with you, I will be in position to make you aware of the same.
 

What are your views on the status of the packaging industry in India ? What is the way forward?

The current status of packaging industry in india is not as good as other industries because it is still not explore to its actual potential. There is long way ahead for this industry to strengthen itself with giving the new innovated economical quality products which is accepted by the masses in the national and international markets. 

Could you share with us your key plans for the future?

As I belong to pharma packaging industries so I will definitely work towards this and to share with you my plan for the future I reveals that I am working on various concept of child-resistance mechanism which will be unique and cost effective for this industry. Also at the same time I am also working on nanotechnology concept in the field of anti-counterfeiting technology.
 

What has been your biggest challenge? How did you overcome?

Biggest challenge have been the time management, which I overcome by scheduling my daily work based on priority and rescheduling  based on the situation requirement.

What are three important tenets that you work by when beginning a new packaging project?

The three tenets of my work are new invention, imparting education and timely execution.

Your packaging dream?

My packaging dream is to give this industry a concept/ product/ guideline which will promote or make them stand always ahead in the field of new invention and delivering the quality products.
