In a bold move that bridges legacy with contemporary flair, Lakmé India’s iconic beauty and cosmetics brand has unveiled its reimagined identity as the House of Lakmé, in a sweeping brand transformation led by global design agency JDO.
Known for its pioneering role in shaping Indian beauty since 1952, Lakmé has long stood as a symbol of elegance, quality, and innovation. With this latest evolution, the brand is embracing a more fashion-forward vision, one that intertwines beauty with the dynamism of haute couture, and reinforces its position at the intersection of style and substance.
The rebrand described as a complete restaging of Lakmé’s identity includes a dramatic overhaul of the brand’s visual world, from product packaging to the reinvention of its prestigious Lakmé Fashion Week. Taking cues from luxury fashion houses, the refreshed brandmark gleams in gold metallic atop a refined black canvas, channeling the allure of ‘fashion drama’ while staying grounded in Lakmé’s Indian heritage.
“JDO’s reimagining of Lakmé as the House of Lakmé positions the brand at the forefront of fashion and beauty trends,” shared Juliet Cox, Client Business Director at JDO. “It reaffirms Lakmé's leadership while propelling it into an exciting new era defined by bold design and elevated sophistication.”
Packaging across the brand’s portfolio now reflects this upscale ambition. From vibrant color play to intricate finishes, each product tier is unified by a compelling visual story distinct, yet unmistakably Lakmé.
Nowhere is this transformation more visible than at Lakmé Fashion Week. The iconic event now boasts a high-shine gold logo against a matte backdrop designed to dazzle under runway lights and a custom monogram pattern that elevates printed materials and media backdrops into high-fashion statements.
The House of Lakmé is more than a design refresh. It’s a strategic leap into the future of beauty, where culture, fashion, and innovation collide. With this launch, Lakmé not only redefines its aesthetic but reasserts its role as a tastemaker in India’s evolving beauty landscape and sets its sights on global influence.
