Meraxis launches distribution of high-quality RC Plast regranulates

Muri near Bern/Switzerland, August 29, 2023 – The Swiss distributor Meraxis has partnered with the Danish recyclate manufacturer RC Plast: Meraxis will begin distributing selected RC Plast products in Europe. The distribution portfolio includes high-quality unfilled polypropylene (R-PP), such as that made from recycled fibers for technical applications. The aim of this partnership is to make it easier for plastics processors to switch to sustainable recycling material, thanks to both companies’ extensive product and application expertise.

Unveiled on 30 August, the new tool uses IoT concepts and technology to enable any CDI imager or XPS exposure unit to be accessed from within the Esko Cloud, enabling users to directly read status and performance data. “Instead of spending hours every day collecting, cleaning and storing production data to enable business intelligence, production managers and plate room specialists can now gain access to real-time operational data through an intuitive, cloud-hosted dashboard,” said Jan De Roeck, Esko Director of Industry Relations & Strategic Marketing.

Israeli startup pulls in $2 million to use fungi for eco-friendly plastic packaging

Israeli biotech startup MadeRight, which has developed a process of cultivating fungi for green packaging, has nabbed $2 million in seed funding to drive the production of eco-friendly industrial materials.

The funding round was led by Fresh Start foodtech incubator and group of investors including Israeli venture capital firm Arkin Holdings and ARC Impact, that back on early-stage startups.

Today, Dove has announced the Dove Nature Regeneration Project—the Unilever brand's latest initiative to protect nature and tackle climate change.

In partnership with the Rimba Collective, Dove will help protect and restore 123,000 acres of rainforest in Southeast Asia over five years. The area is 8 times the size of Manhattan.

New ORC module converts low-temperature waste heat into green electricity !

The Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC), a technology that converts thermal energy into clean electricity and useful heat, can make almost every industrial production process above a certain thermal energy threshold more environmentally friendly. The new Cyplan® ORC 70 NT now enables this in the lower-temperature segment, which is typical for hot-water networks, geothermal heat sources, and many industrial processes. The low-temperature system has a maximum possible gross output of 70 kWe.

Parkside collaborates with fruit farm for compostable packaging

The packs are made with Parkside’s patented triplex Park2Nature material, which is TÜV certified as home-compostable within 26 weeks in normal composting conditions and 12 weeks in an industrial composting facility. The products are grown, processed and packed entirely on the New Forest Fruit Company’s farm in New Forest, Hampshire, ensuring minimal carbon footprint for each product.
