The advanced recycling technology that makes this possible transforms previously unrecyclable plastic waste into a valuable resource. The rPP waste can be re-processed infinitely, as the closed-loop recycling method preserves the quality of the material, thus reducing the need for virgin plastic. Initially, 600,000 of the new tubs were launched in Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain in 2019. This year, more than 7 million will be introduced across other European countries. And from 2021 onwards, the new packs will be rolled out globally.

Many people think of a hammer and screwdriver first. The apprenticeship has little to do with the workbench at home. Hendrik Schulte, apprentice at Röchling in Haren, and Egzon Berishaj, who successfully completed his apprenticeship at the beginning of 2020, share experiences from the apprenticeship at their workplace and explain what makes the tool mechanic a future-oriented profession and for whom it is not at all suitable .

The bottles are now made with 50% post-consumer recycled plastic, are 100% recyclable and the dosing ball previously provided with every bottle has now been removed*, all of which reduce the amount of virgin plastic in Persil bottles by more than 1,000 tonnes annually. The new liquid formulation is made with plant-based stain removers and biodegradable ingredients, which come from renewable or recycled sources.

Mondi, a leading global packaging and paper manufacturer, has collaborated with BIOhof Kirchweidach, an organic farm in Bavaria, to design a sustainable packaging solution for 500g packs of tomatoes on the vine to be distributed to PENNY supermarkets, owned by major German retailer REWE Group.
