Light weight Protein Shake Pouch

The Protein Shake Pouch for EZY Pro 10 is re-closable, super lightweight stand up pouch made by Ampac Flexibles. This pouch incorporates a 21mm spout and tamper evidence cap which contains 33 grams of functional food concentrate which is mixed with water inside the pack. The consumer simply fills the shaped pouch with 230ml of water, measured by a special mark on the pack. It is then shaken to mix the concentrate and enjoyed directly from the pouch. Drinking is very convenient due to presence of the spout’s wide diameter and, of course, the pouch can be reclosed.

Food product packaging to undergo more safety tests

The packet of noodle and the bottle of soft drink may soon go through another layer of safety checks. Apart from the testing done by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the Indian food safety regulator is set to test the packaging standards of foodmakers such as Pepsi, Dabur and Nestle. The idea is to ensure that the packets, bottles, cans or wrappers do not release toxins into the food under different temperatures and conditions.

Securitypackfix is the new shipping box with security bottom and top. It offers a reliable theft protection as it prevents any attempt to remove articles from the pack during transport without leaving visible traces.
Extra glue strips on the automatic bottom attach the overlapping layers to one another when the package is being erected. Side flaps with self-adhesive glue close the top on all sides.The built-in tear strip makes it easy to open the box.

Unger, a Austrian designer partnered with Julia Kaisinger and Utrecht University to develop a system prototype known as Fungi Mutariu. Fungi Mutarium is so intriguing that it not only uses nature to process synthetic waste to break down plastic and grow edible, fluffy biomass. The idea came from a 2012 study by researchers at Yale University, who found a rare mushroom in the Amazon called Pestalotiopsis microspora that was capable of breaking down polyurethane - the main ingredient used in plastics.

Bomilla has a rich history of delicious sweets and high quality chocolates since 1926. They wanted their high quality sweets to have a packaging that achieved the same level of outstanding quality.

Challenge: Increase packaging automation and quality
The current design needed expensive manual gluing because the format was not stable enough to be automated. The resulting quality didn’t meet Bomilla’s expectations and it made the entire production process unnecessarily long, expensive and with inconsistent quality.
