Lincoln & York’s Recyclable Coffee Packaging Range receives international recognition!

The recyclable packaging solutions, developed by A. Hatzopoulos S.A. for the UK coffee roaster, have been awarded the prestigious WorldStar Award. In partnership with Lincoln & York, last year we brought to the UK market a complete all-PE recyclable coffee packaging range. Based on the X-CYCLE PE concept, the high-performance films were designed to preserve the coffee aroma & flavor and at the same time to be recyclable through the recycling stream in the UK for polyethylene.

ITC’s Savlon Glycerin Soap adopts wrapper made of PET film with 70% recycled material

ITC has embraced an even more bold and ambitious Sustainability 2.0 (S2) vision, as a part of which it has decided to use 70% recycled plastic material in the PET film of Savlon Glycerin Soap wrapper. 

The initiative is aimed at embedding sustainability in the everyday routine of consumers in India. 

PCR or Post-Consumer Recycled Material is an environmentally friendly packaging that in which plastic is made from existing PET bottles and other plastics discarded after use.

Returnity launches reusable shipping solution to reduce cardboard waste

Returnity has launched The Last Box – a reusable shipping solution which it believes will help retailers move products between distribution centres and stores with less waste and lower costs.

According to Returnity, retailers use over one billion cardboard boxes a year for internal logistics.

The company also claims its solution will lower retailers’ packaging expenses by at least 30%, and without the requirement of breaking down empty boxes or spending excessive time unpacking products. Plus, it states employees will save 30 seconds per Last Box used.

Paper Bags and Compostable Food Packages May Contain Toxic Forever Chemicals, Warns Study

Amid the ban on single-use plastic, paper bags and compostable food containers have found many takers. While marketed as green alternatives to plastic, these contain a chemical called perfluooctane sulfate or PFOS, which is one of a class of man-made chemicals called per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS.

PFAS are commonly used to make paper grease-resistant, so they are used in many fast-food containers and wrappers.
