Gymkhana Fine Foods required two food packaging solutions, a four-pack and a larger eight-pack.

Smurfit Kappa has worked previously with the restaurant and said its corrugated food packaging needed to be re-enforced because of damage from courier mishandling.

Gymkhana sought a more protective e-commerce packaging solution for their fragile glass jars.

This project was focused on ramping up protection, leveraging the previous food parcel box design to elevate the safeguarding of our customer’s precious glass jars during transit.

PC Correspondent

The introduction of attached caps across all Juice Burst SKUs will make it easier for consumers to recycle the products more effectively, reducing the frequency of bottle caps being discarded or littered and helping to ensure they are captured and recycled with the rest of the packaging.

The attached caps will also see the removal of foil seals from all Juice Burst bottles, reducing foil packaging waste by 10 tonnes annually.

Purity Soft Drinks has invested significantly in testing, development and new factory equipment to deliver this packaging update.

Borough Broth turned to Smurfit Kappa as they were experiencing a series of packaging challenges. Despite supplying premium bone broths to renowned brands such as Waitrose, Holland & Barrett, and Ocado, their products were initially packaged in nondescript boxes lacking distinctive branding. The use of sheep’s wool insulation in their boxes to maintain the broths’ temperature raised concerns about the packaging’s environmental impact.

03 Jul 2024
PC Correspondent
  • Nestlé announced Friday that by June it will begin using a new recyclable shrink sleeve label on its line of seven ready-to-drink Nesquik flavored milk products. The company says the cap, bottle and sleeve can all be recycled together in the U.S.
  • The crystallized PET sleeves were designed with “light-blocking print technology” to preserve shelf life – an important feature for protecting these drinks, whose taste, color and vitamin levels can be susceptible to being impacted by light, the company said.
