This new flour packaging machine achieves high filling rates while reducing dust emissions. The dosing system, a fusion of Premier Tech and Bühler's expertise, contributes to a clean, reliable and accurate bagging process that maintains product quality and integrity.

Global packaging leader, Berry Global Group, Inc. has introduced a range of special closures and couplings which can be used in conjunction with its popular Politainer™ combi pack. This provides a closed system that facilitates the safe and easy dispensing of sensitive liquids without coming into contact with air.

 Emerald Packaging, Inc., a packaging company for produce in the U.S., collaborated with D'Arrigo California, a grower, packer and shipper of fresh produce that ships under the Andy Boy label, to develop a post-consumer recycled (PCR) bag for its romaine hearts products. The bag will be available in all grocers that carry Andy Boy romaine hearts across North America.

The brand said the revised pack designs are poised to ‘redefine’ the consumer experience.

Boost’s lozenge logo remains but now features a ‘subtle modern twist’, with a streamlined design approach that gives each product a ‘slicker’ and ‘more refined’ look. Rio, which was acquired by Boost Drinks in 2021, recently enjoyed a similar makeover, demonstrating the brand’s desire to adapt with the times and maintain a modern visual identity.

The brief was to minimise the amount of plastic waste in the shell of the packaging, while retaining the tamper proof seal.

After testing by designers, DS Smith said the finished product featured 78% less plastic per pack, saving over 373,248g of CO2 so far.

The new packaging is already on-shelf.

Dubbed JANUS, the coating creates a barrier to grease, water and oxygen when applied to paper for food packaging, like wrap paper, boxes, cups, utensils, K-cups, and straws. The compound is 100% biodegradable, backyard compostable, repulpable and recyclable and can replaces the current coating standard, petroleum-derived polyethylene.
