EcoVerHighPlus : A Game-Changing Leap in Sustainable Coffee Packaging

In a strategic collaboration between Constantia Flexibles and Delica AG—a key player within the Migros Industrie group—coffee packaging just took a significant step forward in both performance and sustainability. The result: EcoVerHighPlus, a recyclable-ready mono PP laminate that’s redefining how coffee is packed, preserved, and presented.

Designed to meet the demanding requirements of modern coffee packaging, EcoVerHighPlus delivers premium barrier protection, ensuring optimal aroma retention and freshness for both ground coffee and whole beans. But what truly sets it apart is its environmental promise—a fully recyclable-ready structure, including a mono PP degassing valve that maintains freshness while supporting a circular economy.

“This project highlights the positive impact of close collaboration,” says Tobias Acker, Market Product Manager Beverages at Constantia Flexibles. “Thanks to our partnership with Delica AG, we’ve successfully launched one of the first recyclable-ready mono PP laminates for coffee soft bags on the market. It’s a meaningful advancement for the industry—and the environment.”

From a production standpoint, EcoVerHighPlus also scores high marks. The laminate has demonstrated seamless runnability on vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) machines with no equipment modifications needed. After some initial fine-tuning, the switch was smooth and immediate—a rare “one-shot success story,” as described by a Migros Industrie representative.

This innovation reinforces both companies’ dedication to sustainable packaging solutions without compromising functionality or consumer experience. As brands and consumers alike prioritize sustainability, EcoVerHighPlus sets a new standard for what coffee packaging can—and should—achieve.
