Avient’s Oxyloop-1 grade has earned the endorsement of the European Platform for Bottle Packaging (EPBP) for bottle-to-bottle recyclability for the colored recycled stream. This recognition underscores its ability to meet some of the highest industry standards for recyclability. Additionally, this non-nylon-based product is compatible with recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET), making it an excellent choice for brands looking to incorporate higher levels of recycled material into their packaging.
One of the standout features of ColorMatrix Amosorb Oxyloop-1 is that it can deliver exceptional oxygen scavenging performance, even with up to 100% rPET content, so that packing applications for products like juices, vitamin drinks, ready-to-drink (RTD) teas, and certain dairy products maintain their freshness and shelf life.
Offering outstanding bottle clarity, this additive can be used in monolayer or multi-layer bottle structures as well as transparent applications that require a high-quality solution to support recyclability. The absence of nylon in this formulation can also minimize yellowing in the transparent recycling stream, preserving the aesthetic appeal of transparent bottle applications.
"We are thrilled to introduce the ColorMatrix Amosorb Oxyloop-1 grade to the market," said Dr. Antonello Decortes, Global Product Platform Manager at Avient Corporation. "This new Oxyloop technology represents a significant step forward in our commitment to sustainability and circularity. By enhancing the recyclability of PET packaging, we are helping brand owners and converters achieve their sustainability goals and reduce their environmental impact."
ColorMatrix Amosorb Oxyloop-1 additive meets direct food contact regulatory requirements in major markets, providing peace of mind to both manufacturers and consumers.
